My Real Estate adventure started with the purchase of my first home with my husband in 1977 and progressed through buying and selling 8 more primary residences over the years so when I decided I had to get serious about generating more streams of income for retirement I naturally turned to Real Estate Investing. Beginning in 2007 I started purchasing rental properties and managing them myself. (hint: you don’t know what your don’t know until it bites you in the but.) Initially, I financed them using government back loans since I was still working a regular job but I moved into using my self directed IRA along with a non-recourse mortgage loans. Along the way I decided becoming a licensed Real Estate Agent would give me better access to information and support my property management. I’ve been with EXIT Realty Professionals since 2010. After my retirement from a 38 year IT career in 2012 I did my first flip. I had previously rehabbed rental properties, but this was the first full scale pop the top project for me. I financed the first flip using my IRA and LLC. I used hard money for other flips. In addition, I’ve purchased a rental using Subject to financing.

Real Estate investing is not for the faint of heart, but I have enjoyed growing and learning with each deal. I highly recommend it.
